What is Integrative Medicine?
A practice of medicine that reaffirms the importance of the relationship between the practitioner and the patient, focuses on the whole person, is informed by evidence, and makes use of all appropriate therapeutic approaches, healthcare professionals and disciplines to achieve optimal health and healing.
Integrative medicine neither rejects conventional medicine nor accepts alternative therapies uncritically. It’s complementary to conventional medicine.
What is the philosophy behind Integrative Medicine? The core of Integrative Medicine is the partnership between the patient and the healthcare practitioner. There are 7 core areas of health that are the focus:
In addition to addressing and handling the immediate health problems as well as the deeper causes of the disease or illness, integrative medicine strategies also focus on prevention and foster the development of healthy behaviors and skills for effective self-care that patients can use throughout their lives.
How we would like to help you?
As a patient of Ascend Ketamine, you have the opportunity to sign up for an integrative medicine consultation. This involves an hour long in-person intake with recommendations provided to you that will focus on the 7 core areas as deemed appropriate. We utilize the latest evidence to guide recommendations for supplements, botanicals, and other therapies as they apply to you specifically and for treating your depression, anxiety, or PTSD. The physician will then follow up with you at 4 and 8 weeks (by phone or in person) to see which therapies are working, and how you are progressing.
